Cosentino announces Dekton Ukiyo – a first-of-its-kind fluted collection
Known for its smart and sustainable surfaces that combine beauty and practicality, Cosentino is breaking design boundaries and setting trends with its innovative surface products, including its Silestone® and Dekton® collections.
The latest addition to the Dekton range is no different. Designed by Claudia Afshar, Dekton® Ukiyo is the first ready-to-install fluted tile range to hit the market.
“Dekton® Ukiyo was inspired by Japanese and contemporary design. Celebrating the art of minimalism and embracing the present, Ukiyo – which means ‘to live in the moment’ – is designed to awaken the senses and evoke a feeling of harmonious wellness,” explains Dekton and Cosentino.
“‘Playing with texture is timeless, and it is so important in all materials, not just fabric,’ adds Afshar of her designs.
“I have always been inspired by the materials found in nature and making the spaces I design as comfortable, warm and authentic as possible. Ukiyo is calming yet simplistic, and the colourways and fluting are romantic, but also contemporary and masculine, to achieve balance.”
The first-of-its-kind product which combines the concepts of luxury, durability and sustainability in one beautiful product is not only full life-cycle carbon-neutral but also offers a virtually limitless range of vertical cladding application options.
Adding distinctive depth and dimension to any space, Ukiyo is ideal for residential and commercial spaces, from facades and fireplaces to furniture.
Dekton® Ukiyo is available in a matte finish and two fluting options: GV2, with grooves 5 mm wide and 3 mm deep, and set 25 mm apart; and GV3, with grooves 4 mm wide and deep, and set 11 mm apart. Both come in tile sizes 450 mm x 3,000 mm.
Dekton® Ukiyo is currently available in five existing Dekton® colourways, specifically chosen by Afshar: dark-grey Bromo, grey Kreta, Nacre, terracotta-hued Umber and Rem with its fine brown and grey veining.
