Mirador Torre Glòries is Barcelona’s new Must-See Attraction

Mirador torre Glòries is a unique place in the centre of Barcelona that brings art, science, and technology together. Already visited by over 80,000 people from all over the world since its opening in May 2022, it has become the new cultural and leisure landmark of the Catalan capital.

In addition to offering exclusive views of the city, it reinterprets the concept of the traditional viewpoint while housing the only permanent, multisensory, and walkable art installation by contemporary artist Tomás Saraceno in southern Europe.

A New Perspective

The building emerged as a double viewpoint that offers a unique experience to rediscover Barcelona through a new perspective, whether from the 30th floor or the basement. In a time of constant transformation, with cities striving to become greener, friendlier, and more sustainable, Mirador torre Glòries invites visitors to become aware that they do not live in isolation and to reflect on the interdependence and interconnectedness that exists between all the elements that make up the urban ecosystem.

To achieve this, visitors take part in a journey that begins at the Hyperview Barcelona. This offers a windowless viewpoint where they discover a side of Barcelona that is usually dismissed. They then ascend to the 360º viewpoint located on the 30th floor.  Now visitors can observe practically every corner of the city from a height of 125 meters.

As a grand finale, in that same space, a few meters higher, they can access Cloud Cities Barcelona–a climbable work of art by Tomás Saraceno. Here you can feel suspended as if walking on clouds while reflecting on the future of cities from an environmental perspective.

The Use of Real-Time Data to Understand the City

Next week, Barcelona will host a new edition of the Mobile World Congress, one of the city’s main annual events that showcases its commitment to technology and innovation.

An example of this is the Mirador torre Glòries, which places technology, people, and the city at the core of its design. Furthermore, it uses real-time data to collect information from urban systems through five spectacular installations that combine art, music, technology, and large-scale audiovisual productions.

All of this is in an attempt to discover Barcelona from a multi-faceted, conscious, and responsible perspective.
