Mavromac & Gatehouse: Joyful collection
A joyful collection of prints, weaves and embroideries, Colefax and Fowler’s new Spring collections celebrate the season with elegant yet light-hearted designs and cheerful colourways.
The Hailsham collection reimagines the classic botanical theme with a painterly, even hand-rendered zest. Datura flowers, peonies and poppies are the heady assortment of blooming florals on display, all printed on linen rich cloths.
The floral designs are presented “alongside an array of jolly patterns; a characterful printed squiggle, an alluring leopard pattern and an embroidery that playfully references Indian and Turkish motifs”, adding a fresh take on the quintessential Spring theme.
The collection also includes a printed linen damask in soft pastel shades and an exceptional embroidery featuring peacock plumage.
Elegantly complimenting the Hailsham collection, Denbury Weaves explores “traditional English checks and stripes with a contemporary twist, adding unexpected dashes of woven ikat to a block stripe and a lightweight woven check”, explains Colefax and Fowler.
Spotted woven designs that can be mixed and matched with other woven and decorative elements complete the range.
The UK-based company has also released Naturals III as part of its new Spring offering, further expanding its range of wallcoverings and extending the category into wallcovering-backed fabrics.
“Two exceptional quality semi-plain, pure linen weaves add grace and exquisite depth to wall and ceiling, and act as the ideal backdrop to any Colefax and Fowler decorative curtains or covered furniture,” explains the company.
In addition, an elegantly shaded grass cloth available in several colourways further expands the range of textures already available in the Naturals range.
Colefax and Fowler is locally available at Mavromac & Gatehouse. Purveyors of the finest fabrics, wallcoverings and decorative home furniture and furnishings, Mavromac & Gatehouse is the preferred local distributor of several international brands and South Africa’s most stylish local fabric brand, MAVROMAC.
