Sangria – Kristi Marié Pretorius
There is a consistent light source found at the centre top of the paining. The artist found a balance between this strong yet muted contrast. The use of light has been used to create a path. There are no visible lines but organic shapes of movement. The painting is monochromatic and calming. We feel a sense of calmness which is created by the light source. The lower part of the painting has a darker tonal value to create depth. This emphasize the mood.
