Plascon House: An Edgy and Unrefined Swedish Home

There is something mesmerising about the minimalist Nordic layout of this Swedish residence – with a soft, neutral palette that exudes a raw urban edge with an exquisite array of rustic concrete surfaces as features within this abode.

Grey and white as a colour scheme remains on trend – this palette works in almost any modern setting and we love the use of it, together with hints of woody tones – in this modern apartment that is evidently embracing a Scandi yet rustic design move. A simple uncluttered and carefree living area creates a cosy space for family living. A vintage rocking chair takes centre stage here and we love the freshness of the all-white interior with an influx of natural light pouring in from all directions. As a backdrop against a contemporary furniture layout, grey concrete walls are left unadorned and take on their own sense of beauty and lustre as a naturally raw, edgy and trendy addition to the space. It is that notion of an ‘unfinished’ feature wall that adds intrigue, depth and definition to this room. High ceilings, large windows and the light, airy ambience set the tone within this home. Minimalist furnishings with a server trolley and metal display shelf on one end of the room, again emit a simplistic Industrial style that is popular globally at present. The same grey rustic colour wash is used as backsplash in the kitchen – against all-white cabinetry, the grey definitely pops. There are also definite Nordic influences in this space, with the use of plush white furry throws (around the dining table) and hints of earthy, wooden elements throughout. A mix of dining chairs add intrigue in an otherwise sterile environment. And we love the use of greenery throughout, however subtle, to tie the outdoors to the interior spaces. Contact: Plascon Via
