Contemporary African design brand, Indigenus, designs and manufactures a range of architectural planters for residential, hospitality and corporate environments. Designed in collaboration with leading designers and architects who understand the impact large-scale sculptural planters can have in an architectural site or landscape, the Indigenus range was developed as a solution that presents planting in a sophisticated, statement – making vessel with high style integrity, which would amplify and augment the scenic quality of creative planting.

Home is Sanctuary

Although Indigenus is known for creating large scaled planters, the new HOME IS SANCTUARY range developed in 2020, is a response to demand for a smaller scaled planter which could be easily incorporated into interior spaces as a decorative device, whilst still retaining all the design credentials, finishes and form of the original more massive range.

“With most of us becoming more home-centric, it is important to find ways of bringing nature into our spaces in a design driven way that works hand in hand with the furniture and finishes of a room in a holistic aesthetic,” comments Peter van der Post, director of Indigenus, about the new range.

Connected to the earth

All Indigenus planters are meticulously crafted. Made of raw, honest materials such as hardwood, cork and concrete, a recognisable aesthetic of pared-back, bold forms and organic silhouettes runs through each collection. Used as a single statement, cluster, or group configuration, Indigenus planters are designed to be versatile in how and where they can be placed. For landscape and interior designers and architects, Indigenus planters increase a profound interactive experience of the natural and the built environment.

“Indigenus planters all have a close connection to the earth. This is expressed through a stable and grounded design, made with beautiful natural materials. Each planter has an underlying story of our relationship with the natural world”. – Peter van der Post.

Indigenus planters are available worldwide and can viewed and purchased from an extensive distributors network.
