Plascon House Tour: Drama and Greenery

In many ways, today’s home has the feel of an indoor conservatory, where an abundance of greenery and blossoming flora fill every room. The high ceilings, stretching to over 3m above the ground, add to the drama and fascination of this plant-filled abode.

Interior glass walls, ornately detailed ceilings and darker shades of paint add to the alluring qualities and character we love about this residence. It’s also a celebration of indoor and outdoor living, with the large living area that opens up into a lush garden.

A mix of textiles and finishes bring depth to this lively family room. Groups of eclectic light pendants, potted plants and artwork fill this space. Rattan, wood, reeds and metal all work together in this room and light from the exterior pours through into every space – filtering through the many interior windows that allow for a light-filled and vibrant ambience.

Complementary colours add to the designer look of this home with deep greens and pops of teal, blue and mustard that echo the natural tones found in the garden and within the interior plants. High ceilings also call for extra-length drapes – the deep blue colour of these curtains adds to the drama of this room and provides the perfect contrast against the white window frames.

Darker shades add a sophisticated look to the kitchen. Open shelves showcase a rustic arrangement of goods and charcoal drapes act as cupboard coverings. Wall-mounted lighting softens the dark tones of this room and a mix of dried and live plants add intrigue and freshness here.

Gorgeous greenery fills the bedroom – a beautiful luminous shade that brings life to the ceiling and walls and creates a soft, homely feel here. In keeping with the rest of the home, potted plants feature in this space, bringing energy and a refreshing presence to this room. Touches of grey, beige and timber complete the look here.
