Euro Nouveau Introduces Daruma By Fontana Arte
Daruma is a cheerful, simplistic and elegant table lamp designed by Sergio Asti for Fontana Arte. Daruma offers ambient illumination to transform otherwise mundane surroundings.
Instead of a separate base and shade, Daruma consists of two glass domes attached together – white glass diffuses soft light throughout the entire light fixture. On show at New York’s MoMA, Daruma is a true gem of Italian lighting design of the 1960s, and its distinctive character makes a lovable addition to modern interiors as well.
The simple features, such as a spherical vase topped by a little lid, makes this table lamp an elegant piece of lighting and adds a touch of warmth to any decor. The Daruma table lamp is a product of the creativity of Sergio Asti, who marks a revolution in the methods of transforming glass material into various shapes and forms. The table lamp owing to its compact size can be placed anywhere in home.
