Crema Design Introduces Lee Broom Designer Lighting

No stranger to the world of lighting design, Lee Broom is an innovator in the world of design. Not only is he one of the UK’s leading product designers but he is also the head of a premium global design brand. Using the highest quality materials, combined with the latest technology, Lee Broom constantly evolves, resulting in his signature mix of classicism and modernity.

Having started out in theatre school, a beginning which has greatly influenced the sense of drama and narrative that his collections create, Broom’s career took a change of direction after he won a fashion design competition at the age of 17. This led him to meet and then go on to work for the legendary designer Vivienne Westwood. Straight after, he studied toward a degree in fashion design at Central St Martins. Fashion is therefore still a great source of inspiration in Broom’s life and work.

An evolution of fashion and design

The Guardian commented, “Lee Broom is to furniture what Marc Jacobs or Tom Ford are to fashion.” Taking inspiration from his background in fashion design, Broom strives to embrace and explore new themes. He does this whilst keeping an overarching house style. Broom also relies on the use of the highest quality materials including marble from Carrara and crystal from the Czech Republic. As such, he works with manufacturers to constantly innovate and lead on traditional production techniques.

Broom presents his collections in Milan, New York and London Design Weeks each year. As such, he has subsequently gained a reputation for creating conceptual dynamic installations. These masterpieces are often described as surreal, experiential and always unexpected.

As a global designer, he has really made design a successful international business. In fact, Lee Broom’s products are now retailed in over 250 stores in 48 countries around the world. He also boasts his own flagship showrooms in London and New York.

Lee Broom has been referred to by The Financial Times as “Among the most respected British Talents”.
