NEW: VICOSTONE ULTRATHIN 5mm QUARTZ – THINNEST QUARTZ SLAB IN THE WORLD
VICOSTONE International has launched ultra-thin quartz surfaces that are available in several colours to suit a variety of purposes in interior design. VICOSTONE SA will officially launch this remarkable new innovation in the next month.
The Vicostone Ultrathin Quartz slabs measure just 5mm in thickness, which makes it “the world’s leading thin quartz slab” collection. The full slab size is 3.05m x 1.44m x 5mm.
It is designed and manufactured by Vicostone for ease of delivery, fabrication and installation, while ensuring that it can be easily applied to a mix of different interior surfaces, ranging from kitchen counters to cupboard and staircases. The actual Quartz is mined and source from Europe and then manufactured into slabs using the world’s best practices with Italian Breton Technology.
There are a lot of reasons for it to be heavily sought after by interior designers and architects. Despite its significantly reduced size and weight, Vicostone Ultrathin Quartz still retains its excellent durability and performance.
Each slab is made from approximately 93% pure, natural quartz, which ensures it is “super durable, non-porous, resistant to stain, scratch, heat, impact and corrosive chemical agents”, unlike other cheaper quartz products. It is also microbial certified [ATSM D 6329-2015] so can be used in restaurants, hospitals, laboratories and schools. None of the cheaper brands carry this certification.
In comparison with natural stone and traditional quartz slabs, Vicostone Ultrathin Quartz is also easier to move and cut – negating the need for complex tools and machinery. This helps to reduce dust released in its manufacture; improving the environmental credentials of the product.
Vicostone recommends the Ultrathin Quartz for use on countertops, full wall backsplashes, and shower walls. It can also be used on structures ranging from staircases to fireplace cladding and furniture etc. A very cost-effective stone overlay over damaged or ugly existing stone countertops.
The material can also be used to revitalise old furniture, as it adheres to wood and metal surfaces. The possibilities are endless!
Vicostone first introduced the Ultrathin Quartz at IMM Cologne – the international furniture and interiors fair that took place in Germany earlier this month.
