The call to become environmentally friendly and to live sustainably has been echoing through society for some time now. Sustainability is about creating durable products and materials that stand the test of time. Staying true to these values, Arpa Industriale has taken action providing a “win” for the environment and for their clients too. Arpa Industriale has developed Bloom, a new core technology for Arpa HPL and FENIX, which now has greater environmental performance.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The road to the development of Bloom technology began in 2012, when the Research and Development department started to focus its research on lignin in an effort to increase the use of sustainable raw materials. In partnership with universities and research institutes and Arpa Industrial, they developed a proprietary lignin-based resin.
START WITH THE CORE
The Bloom range is made of paper and thermosetting resins based on phenol. With Bloom, lignin technology has been introduced to significantly reduce the amount of phenol included in the resin by 50%. Lignin is a natural polymer defined as the glue that holds wood fibres together. With this innovation most of the key ingredients for Arpa products originate from the same place: responsibly managed forests.

Thanks to its new technology and the increase of natural raw materials, the new FENIX Bloom and Arpa HPL Bloom products have a greater environmental performance.
MADE IN ITALY
Keeping the style of a “Made in Italy product” and a material that is both easy to work with and extremely strong: resistant to scratches, impact, abrasion and heat. These features make it ideal for a wide range horizontal and vertical applications for interior design. There are 4 new colours available in the Fenix range and a selection of 28 plain HPL colours available in three different finishes namely Erre, Lucida and Kér.
