Spotlight: Andrew Dominic Furniture
Handcrafted contemporary furniture by Andrew Dominic reflects the elegant practicality of new luxury, which is believed to mean greater appreciation for natural materials, quality craftsmanship and exquisite detailing.
Their passion is designing and making furniture that will bring beauty to a client’s home. The team encourage involvement through workshop visits and customisation so that value and satisfaction are found in the creative process as much as the unique result.
The collections are an evolving curation of signature work, each one defined by a distinctive design attribute. Andrew Dominic furniture is made to order and shipped worldwide.
The Franc Collection is appealing in its unassuming design aesthetic. The pieces in this collection are largely found in the ‘boudoir’, and include Ottomans, Pedestals, a Dressing Table and Bureau. The Franc designs are quiet yet detailed in their craftsmanship, and introduce the tactility of velvet, linen, leather and colour to the range.
The Ivor Collection centres around the traditional woodworking technique of corner rail construction and focuses on the dining experience. Designed for, and appropriately named after a chef, this collection includes a classic dining Table, Round Table, Chairs and Benches. The corner rail technique creates the effect of a lighter, floating top to tables and subtle hand-crafted detailing to the bases, chairs and benches.
Characterised by a timber mosaic of opposing angles that play with light and shadow, the Manu Collection is bold, and includes the Server, Media Cabinet, Tall Boy, Dry Bar and Manu Table. When the Manu cabinets are made in a lighter timber, they are calm, and bring texture and warmth to an interior space. When a combination of different timbers are used, they become striking statement pieces.
The Noah Collection is about restrained beauty and contemporary revision, and includes the Drinks Cabinet, Armoire, Server and Noah Table. It is seductively tactile and all about the experience: opening large pocket-sliding doors; motion sensor lighting; the smell of aromatic cedar; or running one’s hand over the sweeping curve to the front of a cabinet or down the length of the table.
The Seat Collection is a growing family of furniture to sit on: the most subjective and challenging pieces to design whilst still striving for beauty, comfort and timelessness. Each with its own personality and appeal, this collection includes the Draper Kitchen Stool, Manu Stool, the Ivor Chair and the Eve Chair.
All furniture is customisable and made to order in solid timber sourced from sustainably managed forests in Europe and North America. The team are happy to colour match, advise and offer alternative timbers on request.
