Magis: from iSaloni to South Africa

Since Magis was founded by Eugenio Perazza in Italy in 1976, the company has continued to produce some of the most prized mass-produced pieces of all time. As the champion of innovative and experimental plastic design, Magis has collaborated with internationally acclaimed designers including Jasper Morrison, Stefanno Giovannoni, Eero Aarnio, Ron Arad, Konstantin Grcic and Thomas Heatherwick. Magis’ new “Me Too” collection brings affordable design to adults and children alike with beautiful items created for ages 2 to 6. Crema Design is the South African home of Magis, with a selection of new designs and favourites from the existing collection in stock. Highlights include new products launched this year at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan in the brand’s 500 m² stand which was dominated by striking dark shades. Two side galleries, divided into several modules, exhibited many awe-inspiring pieces from chairs and stools designed by the duo Bouroullec, new models of Konstantin, designs by Grcic, Jaime Hayón, Philippe Starck, Marcel Wanders, MeToo and the Happy Bird Eero Arnio in multi-colour that was dedicated to the children’s collection. At the centre of the stand, two lounge areas for receiving visitors, with armchairs and sofas showcased products for the outdoors, designed to create the atmosphere of a real outdoor environment.
