Casarredo: The Band Collection by Patricia Urquiola
Casarredo presents The Band Collection by Patricia Urquiola.
The idea behind the Band Collection is the breakdown of structure. An object designed using an ensemble of pieces. The chair’s design intentionally challenges the classic sophisticated lines of furniture design and becomes something schematic, a conceptual programme.
A structure made up of repetitive angular shapes that give centre stage to its raw materials, and can be formed entirely of aluminium or teak wood, and of Terrain Fabrics.
The collection comprises a dining chair and a club armchair.
Simple sophistication; beautiful angles with a comfortable upper make the Band Collection of chairs a pleasurable experience.
Add a chair to your living space or dining room and allow it to exude a sense of elegance and simplicity. A perfect fit in a modern or contemporary interior.
About the designer:
Spanish by birth, and Italian by choice, Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain and studied architecture in Madrid before graduating from the Milan Politecnico in 1989. She was mentored by some of the masters of Italian industrial design: Achille Castiglioni oversaw her graduate thesis, and Vico Magistretti, with whom she designed her first projects. She learned her craft in Italy, and opened a studio in Milan in 2001.
