Cane Time: SeaX by Jean-Marie Massaud

Inspired by the sleek racing boats of the America’s Cup, Cane Time’s SeaX range of furniture stands for elegance and modernity. From the streamlined sophistication of the folding chairs to the understated innovation of the dining tables, the collection perfectly reflects designer Jean-Marie Massaud‘s meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful approach to materials, textures and colours.

Distinguished by its meticulous attention to detail and wealth of innovative design solutions, this sophisticated collection, which consists of folding chairs, dining tables and more, could only be the work of French designer Jean-Marie Massaud.   Taking inspiration from the sleek racing sailboats of the America’s Cup, Massaud has developed a frame for the SeaX folding chair that’s remarkably light and flexible yet extremely robust. Armrests covered in richly-hued, teak-finished marine plywood bring warmth to the chair, which comes in dining or lounge dimensions; backrest and seat are available in a state-of-the-art outdoor fabric. The collection also includes a foldable footstool for the lounger and a foldable side table in teak-finished marine plywood. In keeping with the elegant minimalism of the chairs, Massaud has created a selection of streamlined SeaX dining tables in a versatile range of sizes.

The tables feature a sleek aluminum base, slanted legs and a choice of premium teak or smooth porcelain tabletop. Frost-proof, nonabsorbent, impervious to UV-rays, twice as strong as glass and incredibly resistant to scuffing, the porcelain tabletop has all of the richness and durability of stone with none of the shortcomings. Says the renowned French designer: “Design aims at taking part in a new consumption model based on being rather than having.” Available locally through agents Cane Time, you can now access the wonders of SeaX in South Africa. Cane Time is the leading supplier of high quality outdoor furniture to the hospitality industry as well as some of the finest homes around Africa.
