INGREDIENTS FOR THE CAKE: 3 C. Flour 2 t. Baking Powder ⅛ t. Salt ¼ t. Cloves, ground ¼ t. Nutmeg, ground 170 g Butter, (cold is fine) ¾ C. Sugar 4 large Granny Smith apples 2 Eggs ¾ C. Milk 2 T. Sugar (for sprinkling on top of cake) FOR THE CUSTARD: 6 large Egg Yolks 6 T. Sugar 1½ C. Whole Milk 1½ t. Vanilla
