Cara Saven Wall Design: A look at Wallpaper Trends for 2018

We’ve seen some remarkable innovation in the world of luxury wallpaper design over the past seasons in interior design. A stunning array of beautiful greenery, florals, and botanical prints have taken centre stage. Will these continue into 2018? We chat to Cara Saven Wall Design about the trends to look out for in the year ahead!

Oversized Vintage Flowers

Botanical

Easily one of the biggest 2017 trends within wallpaper design, greenery and botanical prints will continue to leave their mark on interior spaces through 2018. People are seeking ways of getting back in touch with nature, even while living in urban jungles and bringing that through in a wallpaper is one of the easier ways of achieving that. No longer just reserved for a feature wall, you can expect to see the trend growing to include more rooms in the house with beautiful large-scale patterns and prints covering whole bedrooms and bathrooms.

Going Traditional

Remember how wallpaper used to be done in British homes? Well, expect to see a move on from the feature wall to wallpapering the entire room and even the ceiling. This age-old tradition though is getting a twist with fresh colours and a play with subject matters, for example, a mix of peacock and proteas, which creates the perfect design to cover all your guest loo walls.

The Wild Side

As already mentioned, nature is a strong theme in wallpaper, but 2018 sees the move from pure flora into flora AND fauna. Look out for tigers and birds and elephants – they are reminiscent of a bygone era but looking fresher than ever.

Peacocks and Proteas

Rose Tinted Glasses

As a colour, Rose Gold emits a true sense of class and distinction. In wallpaper design, you can expect this trend to continue through the next season, bringing depth and richness to any interior space. It was 2017’s hottest metallic, and in 2018 you will most certainly find this shade paired with concrete and marble inlays for added interest.

Interior designers and decorators are looking for innovative ways of bringing in the X Factor without blowing the budget on expensive materials – this kind of wallpaper offers the perfect solution for this.

Gold Marble Tiles

Marble and Onyx

A timeless resource, marble is the epitome of class and luxury, and the same is true in wallpaper designs. Remaining on trend for 2018, expect bold marble patterns mixed with other materials that will add instant appeal to any room.

Reminiscing

With time moving so fast and the advent of technological advances hitting us on a daily basis, there is a move back to the old ways of doing things. Taking time to create a painting, baking bread and knitting. In wallpaper design, this can be seen in the use of old masters paintings, flower arrangements and vintage etchings. Using the old in your interior has never looked so new and will definitely be around in 2018.

Do you have a favourite wallpaper trend? Remember, you can’t go wrong with a quality wallpaper and trending design to bring elegance and design style to your favourite spaces.
