The 54th edition of the Salone del Mobile will open its doors on Tuesday the 14th of April 2015, culminating on Sunday the 19th, at the Rho Milan Fairgrounds. The much-anticipated event shines the light on quality and innovation, with a comprehensive and extensive range of goods on show by 2,000 exhibitors across a 200,000 m2 exhibition space. Thousands of products will be making their market debut at this year’s Salone del Mobile. The multifaceted furniture fair continues to uphold its position as the acknowledged international benchmark event, year after year, by attracting more than 300,000 visitors from over 160 countries. The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is split into three style categories, namely: classic, modern and design. This year, the International Furnishing Accessories will be flanked by the biennial Euroluce / Internat Euroluce / International Lighting Exhibition in Pavilions 9 through to 11, 13 through to 15 and Workplace3.0/SaloneUfficio. Speaking of dedication to the workspace, Pavilions 22- 24 will highlight an exhibition devoted to excellence within the world of lighting with the very latest outdoor, indoor and industrial lighting solutions, systems and technology on display To mark the 2015 International Year of Light, proclaimed by UNESC, architect Attilio Stocchi has conceived “FAVILLA” (to every light a voice) for the city of Milan; an installation exploring the essence of light. Workplace3.0 is an exhibition which boasts an innovative concept, devoted to design and technology used for planning workspaces. Workplace3.0 will bring together top proposals within the furnishing world for commercial offices and public spafes including seating, lightings, coverings, flooring and accessories. “The Walk” is another significant installation that will be on exhibition within the Workplace3 pavilions. Conceived by internationally renowned Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, this is an area for showcasing ideas and design triggers used to arrangeworkspaces in their many different contemporary interpretations. New activities and working modes generate new workspaces and new design requisites for “inhabiting them”, with offices increasingly becoming a hub for social interface, meetings and living side by side. The Salone is also making the real-time mobile app for the 2015 event available for free download on iOS and Android devices, enabling people to plan their visits and orientate themselves at the fairgrounds.
