Salone del Mobile 2015: highlights

Salone del Mobile, the renowned international furniture fair, is just around the corner. Set to take place from the 14th to the 19th of April 2015 in Milan, the event acts as the global benchmark in the home furnishing industry. It was founded in 1961 with the intention to promote Italian exports of furniture and accessories; today it is attended by at least 300,000 visitors from more than 150 different countries. With 2,000 exhibitors showcasing their designs in a space of 200,000 square meters, the biennial show is one of the most important events on the international design calendar. As always, the Salone del Mobile will be shining the light on cultural events, entertainment as well as the latest technology and ground-breaking products from a diverse array of companies, designers and studios. Some highlights of the upcoming event include: – The FAVILLA instalment (meaning “to every light a voice”), created by architect Attilio Stocchi – Workplace3.0, occupying Pavillions 22 – 24, exhibiting the latest innovations in the realm of office furniture and corporate design – The Walk by Michele De Lucchi – A multi-media presentation by Four in the Morning, curated by architect Dario Curatolo.
