One of the highlight at this year’s Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo, which takes place from the 27th to the 30th of August at the CTICC, will be the WolfPack Lock-up & Go housing unit. This brand new “home away from home” solution will be displayed to the public for the first time at this year’s coveted event. Says Justin Anley, of WolfPack Rentals: “Our Lock-up & Go housing unit is a first in the country. We realised there was a gap in the market when it comes to holiday homes and land, especially as small cabins and caravans have their disadvantages and aren’t always very practical. What also inspired us to create this product is to make the legal housing route easier. It usually takes a lot of time and effort to get permission for building or renovating your unit. As our units are semi-transportable, you don’t need any permits. When you want to add a new room, it’s built off site and can be implemented easily with no further permits.” According to Anley, they started construction of their mobile units in November last year. “Initially we were focused on the hospitality industry, but soon realised the potential to expand to many other sectors such as exhibitions, coffee shops, medical units, retail and of course housing. We’ve had a lot of interest in this unit and we’re very excited to show it off at this year’s Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo.” WolfPack’s concepts are customisable to fit clients’ preferences. Says Anley: “The hardest part of costing for design is that there are no limits, there is no set price tag. We have units selling between R150 000 and R1 200 000 depending on the function, finishes, longevity, etc. It also depends on how many drop down sides the client wants. Interior and exterior fittings are additional depending on the finishes required. Modular housing units (multiple units fitted together) are quoted to the specific renders and prerequisites. The sky is the limit. This current unit in the show is being sold at R565 000.”The WolfPack Lock-up & Go housing unit boasts refrigeration panels to assist with insulation. There is a back door and window for easy access, a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and cupboard space. Everything you need in the finishes you prefer! The unit which will be on display at the Expo has solar panels on the roof, a flat-pack geyser and a gas cooking system for ease of use. Plumbing is also limitless – our current unit has a shower, toilet, sink in the bathroom and another sink in the kitchen.” To top it all, it is so easy to pack up. Anley explains: “All you need to do is close the stack doors, attach the two lines to the two corners of the patio, turn on the winch and push a button. Then lock the door in place with the locking pin. That’s it! It takes one minute.” Says Sandy Edwards, Expo Organiser for HOMEMAKERS Cape: “We’re super excited to showcase WolfPack’s innovative housing unit and invite visitors to view it at this year’s Expo. We also offer a vast array of home improvement, décor, design and lifestyle products and services under one roof, giving you the opportunity to explore, compare and find solutions to your specific needs.” Anley concludes: “We have an amazing design team! If you’re interested, please visit us for a consultation at the Expo. If you’re serious, we can draw up and quote a specific design just for you.” This year’s Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo can simply not be missed. Purchase tickets at Webtickets here.
