Another night market is happening this Thursday and we are so excited about the gift ideas that will showcased for all our festive season shopping. The Night Market hosted by the Cape Craft + Design Institute (CCDI) is a diverse group of talented, local creative entrepreneurs presenting their high-quality, handmade products. Themed #GiftLocal, the market will feature over 20 small creative businesses offering a range of exquisite products including ornaments, ceramics, clothing, stationery, jewellery and other accessories – all carefully handmade from locally-sourced materials. Some of the producers on show will include Soul Society and Kimono (clothing), Arum Craft (jewellery), Designwerkstatt, Once off original by hand, Figure and Fret (decorations, ornaments and accessories) and Party Bunch & Co (stationery). The CCDI specialises in developing capable people and building creative businesses enabling talented designers to make a success of what they love – creating and making beautiful products. Treat your loved ones this festive season by gifting them with something bespoke and beautiful, handmade with care. Visitors to the Night Market can discover the hottest emerging creative talent, meet with designers and makers, and enjoy delicious food – all to the cool tunes of a live DJ. The CCDI Night Market has become a popular part of the monthly First Thursday diary. The market aims to ignite the creative culture and community in the eastern part of the city and activate the area as a destination for exceptional design events. The Night Market opens at 5pm each First Thursday, and runs until 9pm. It is located on the corner of Harrington and Barrack streets.
