SA Decor: What is your signature style?

Romi: My style is contemporary with a classic edge. I like to create a timeless interior with neutral colours and a lot of different textures to create interest in a room. Architecturally, I love a Georgian structure with classic finishes and decorated with clean modern furniture, I love the mix of the two.

SA Decor: Where do you find inspiration?

Romi: I find inspiration from traveling and staying in different hotels. Seeing the architecture in the different cities excite me, I get inspiration from books and the Internet But mostly my inspiration comes to me when I’m relaxing on holiday and out of my busy life then my mind starts creating again

SA Decor: What does a successful project mean to you?

Romi: When my clients walk into their newly designed home and I see their facial expression; for me that’s the biggest success of the project.

SA Decor: If you had to give one piece of design advice, what would that be?

Romi: I have 2 pieces of advice: plan and make sure you have a vision of what style you want for your space, and always go with layering. It’s very important in an interior that the basic pieces go into your home and then the styling starts with accessories such as coffee table books, candles, vases, art, cushions, throws and rugs. Attention to detail and the finishing touches takes your interior to another level.

SA  Decor: What inspired you to go into your design profession?

Romi: I’ve always loves beautiful spaces. Since I was a young girl, I moved furniture around my parents home and was always changing my room around. I read home magazines while my friends where reading teen magazines, so it’s been in me from a very young age.
