A highlight of this year’s Arts Alive festival is South Meets South showcasing amazing art, soaking up the Jazz Music and getting inspired by everything around you. As part of the 2013 focus on photography at the FNB Joburg Art Fair, Artlogic has partnered with Arts Alive to bring a selection of photos from the 2013 LagosPhoto Festival in Nigeria, to Johannesburg. The exhibition, Phantasms of the Non-City, looks at how the rapidly developed urban centres in Africa and the technical advance of photography have transformed our sense of place in a globally connected world. The exhibition will be presented at the Art Fair, while digital previews will be screened as part of Arts Alive at the following events: The Mail and Guardian Literary Festival, from 30 Aug to 1 September at the Market Theatre, and at Zoo Lake’s Jazz on the Lake, on 1 September
