Spotlight: Aura Furniture and Decor

When it comes to contemporary design and modern decor, Aura Interiors are in the know with quality offerings to spruce up your home. Located in the heart of Cape Town, Aura has become synonymous with contemporary design and timeless quality.

The company was conceived in 2013 in response to a gap in the market for quality furniture with a modern aesthetic. Their showroom in Salt River is a carefully curated collection of local and international pieces in line with the latest trends in architecture and interior design.

The Aura design philosophy is a simple combination of innovation and functionality. Inspired by the art of living well, they create beautiful spaces in response to every client’s unique tastes and lifestyle needs. A passion for furniture is matched only by Aura’s enthusiasm for customer service. Dedicated sales consultants are committed to helping you create your dream living environment.

Take a look at the many splendid furniture offerings now available from Aura (below). Some of our favourites include the Black Bulb Vase (2) created from individually handmade blown glass. The Bulb series is inspired by modern yet classic silhouettes, designed in a new range of surprisingly tactile finishes.

A stylish alternative to an ottoman, the sleek Kuta stool (6) is the perfect way to add additional seating to any living space. This Japanese inspired design features a solid oak wood frame and woven linen seat. The oak wood has been ‘smoked’ to give it a beautifully intense and dark finish.

Pillowy and cloud-like, the Haas sofa (7) is a little slice of contemporary seating heaven. Featuring a black steel frame and grey fabric upholstery, the Haas cleverly combines comfort with contemporary design. A push fabric sofa like the Haas is a great personal choice for 2019 and is both easy to clean and incredibly durable.

An ode to the magnificent beauty of Ash wood, the Ligno side board (3) has been created to showcase the sleek grain of this natural material. Mid-Century Danish in inspiration, the Ligno (also featured below) is designed and manufactured in Cape Town. Sweet details like cut out handles and black steel legs add detail and interest to this clean cut design. Featuring four spacious drawers and one large cupboard, the Ligno is an easy solution to storage space woes.

Draper Occasional Chair (1) boasts a trendy retro aesthetic, upholstered in sumptuous cocoa leather. The Draper (featured below) sits on a sturdy black steel frame and this design is ergonomic and includes extra padding at the head and seat, making it the perfect place to curl up with a book or coffee. Pair the Draper with a striking sofa for a graphic combination.
