As always, inspiration was found in the essence of the Poetry woman – an eclectic and timeless artisan who revels in the energy of seasonal trends, but draws on her own well of life experiences and creativity to curate an effortless look.

To this end, new homeware and decor items have been sourced, designed and selected from a collection of high-quality, feminine homeware staples, lifestyle accessories and modern collectables that sing of far-flung travels and life-changing journeys – beautiful pieces that that can be combined to striking effect and added to existing living spaces as effortless updates that speak to this summer’s most inspiring trends.

Dare to live the life you dream

SS19 is all about being at ease and relaxing into spaces of unfettered luxury. Natural textures and luxe artisanal expression abound – soft, rounded shapes, exquisite tactile finishes, and pieces that celebrate craftmanship by showing the hand of the maker are ready to breathe life and warmth into the home of the Poetry woman this season.

Rattan, seagrass, wood, reed, marble and shell grace fashion-forward tablescapes, served up alongside new, well-priced versions of the classic marble board with elegant touches like bevelled edges. Black cast iron teapots with bamboo handles appear at teatime, with locally produced ceramics in graphic black and white designs featuring touches of real gold adding a hint of glamour. Just in from Portugal, gorgeous reactive glaze serve ware in hues of soft grey and olive rub shoulders with ecru-coloured baking dishes.

Love the earth & support community-building initiatives

A firm focus was also placed on sourcing sustainable products that support community upliftment initiatives this season. The new Poetry glassware collection is handmade from recycled glass in a sustainable factory in Swaziland, where it creates employment and a portion of all profits are donated to a wildlife fund hat supports a refuge for endangered species.

Additionally, Poetry continues to collaborate with local artists like and Gemma Orkin, who created an exceptionally beautiful range of handmade, hand-painted ceramic bowls that are tailormade to be used as serve ware, but can just as easily be displayed as standalone art pieces. Gemma also contributed a range of exclusive designs for greeting cards and tea towels this season – look out for these wonderful gifting items in store.

Revel in locally sourced creature comforts

This summer, the Poetry woman can choose from two new bath ranges that were both designed in-house and are exclusive to Poetry stores. These scrubs, butters, gels, creams, lip balms (and more) are all created in South Africa, inspired by the singular summertime joys of lounging by the pool, sticking your toes in the sand and delighting in the languid mood of sun-drenched days. A series of locally sourced diffusers are also on hand to allow you to create a signature scent for your home, so you may sketch a cohesive olfactory picture throughout your space.

Set the stage for splendour

In addition to stools and chairs, the Poetry woman can now choose from a marble coffee table, a bar trolley (along with a pretty cocktail shaker, ice bucket, bottle stopper, and bottle opener) and gorgeous mirrored side tables.

The mirror range has been expanded substantially, offering new contemporary designs both in wall and floor versions. To finish off the look, there is an extensive range of beautiful planters that allow the Poetry woman to bring the outdoors in to her home. A range of handmade Indian quilts and beautiful wool rugs in hues of navy, grey and milk are also on offer.

The SS19 sleepwear range is as deliciously luxurious as always. The core collection of florals and paisleys have been updated, and new prints like animals, stripes, orchids and delicious monsters pave the way for picture-perfect lounging sessions. Not to mention the new night shirt silhouette, and a lovely selection of gowns and pyjamas with fresh new trims and detailing!

As for festive gifts, the Poetry woman is spoiled for choice this summer. A new range of notebooks with beautiful designs were created in-house, and there is an array of bath & body gift packs to choose from.
