Something stylish is about to reveal itself in the ever-trendy Cape Town and its hiding behind dusty pink doors! Mulberry & Prince is located at 12 Pepper Street and is set to wow with the perfect fusion of South African and American cuisine!
This exciting new eatery is the brainchild of foodie friends and co-owners, Cornel Mostert and Cynthia Rivera, who met whilst studying at The Culinary Institute of America. Cynthia grew up in Brooklyn, New York, while Cornel was born and bred in the Mother City. The pair have put their heads together and utilised their differences in taste in order to create something truly inspiring!
“Everything from the food, to the décor and music that’s playing reflects both of our personalities, all coming together in an intriguing space,” says Cornel Mostert, co-owner and chef.
Named after two streets in New York City, Mulberry & Prince serves food that is meant for sharing, encouraging interaction between diners.
“For us, dining out is all about the experience and about enjoying that experience with the people you are with,” adds co-owner and chef, Cynthia Rivera.
The menu has been finely curated to show off and combine various cultures and cuisines. One can expect to find creamy stracciatella with lovage and charred bread, perfectly cooked cod complemented by an ajo-blanco inspired sauce, and slow-cooked pork shoulder in brodo with burnt leeks and cucumbers on Mulberry & Prince’s delectable carte du jour!
Atelier Interiors transformed 12 Pepper Street with an air of understated elegance in mind so as to complement this modern take on American cuisine. The white gallery setting has been filled with luxurious velvets, stained glass, custom-made furniture and a touch of pink!
Kurt Pio finished off the space and helped in creating a refreshing and unique dining experience with his modern bespoke artwork.
