Loads of Living: Scents for every room

April 20, 2017

Our sense of smell is a powerful tool – easily triggering memories and emotions that can last a lifetime. Choosing the right fragrance for each room in your house may help you achieve balance and in turn evoke the right sort of feelings you hope to achieve within each space.

Here we take a closer look at some of our favourite scents, ideal for the different areas around your home.

The kitchen

To eliminate the strong scent of cooking in your kitchen, opt for something refreshing, light and natural, such as citrus fragrances that will help to neutralise any food aromas. Simmer water in a pan, along with a few citrus slices and herbs… and voila, your kitchen will take on a refreshing and oh so heavenly aroma. The smell of lemons will also give the impression that your kitchen has just been cleaned.

The living room

Here you should play around with a blend of your favourite scents to inspire happiness and family bonding. Floral tones with roses and jasmine are believed to help improve one’s overall mood. Opt for vanilla, pine and even citrus scents to further create a happy and inviting living room space.

In the bedroom

Choose a soothing scent to promote relaxation and intimacy in your bedroom. Lavender, sandalwood and chamomile are great options to help you unwind and disconnect from the outside world. Lavender is believed to suppress anxiety and agitation while promoting a state of calm – the perfect component for a good night’s rest. Invest in a quality diffuser or scented candles for a more romantic and soothing environment.

The Office

Choose fragrances to promote focus and improve productivity in your office space. Cinnamon and Peppermint are invigorating aromas that help to fight mental fatigue and promote concentration and clearer thinking.

The Bathroom

Your bathroom should be a peaceful sanctuary – a retreat in which you can soak away your troubles. To promote this atmosphere of stress-relief and luxury, try the rejuvenating scents of grapefruit, lemon and mint. Fragrance d candles are great additions to help you unwind in the tub.

We absolutely love the luxurious candles available from Loads of Living , containing 100% cotton wick made from natural wax, essential oil blend of Lilly & Sweet citrus and the Diffuser Therapy Rose patchouli & Ylang Ylang  among others.  For more visit Loads of Living  for a range of heavenly aromas  of   Home Fragrances.
