Franke: A Visit To St Monica’s Children’s Home

December 24, 2016

There’s no greater gift than the gift of giving. And the Franke team can attest to that after their recent visit to St Monica’s Children’s Home. Situated in the Bluff, along Marine Drive, the non-profit, non-government institution for orphaned and abandoned children opened its doors to the Franke team on the 30th November.

But this was no random visit. The team had decided to participate in the Santa Shoebox Project, and they wanted to surprise the children at St Monica’s with a few special Christmas gifts.

Before they visited, each person at Franke was given a child’s name, age and gender, as well as a shoebox which they had to fill with age appropriate gifts, clothes and stationery. Each staff member customised their box to suit the specific child, and asked their own kids to decorate it and write a personal note to go with it.

On the day of the St Monica’s Children’s Home visit, the team handed their gifts out, along with hotdogs and cool drinks – all of which were excitedly received. It was a truly memorable and emotional day for everyone, and it was heart-warming to see so many happy little faces.

Well done Franke team! Let’s keep up the good work and continue to find ways to ‘Make it Wonderful’ for those in need
