Whats instore at Crema Design

These are a mix of most of Crema brands, some brand new and some classics.  We hope you’ll agree that they’re awesome!
A concentric pendant light. Step Light Fat is made from solid copper which has been spun and highly polished to give a warm and burnished light. Both the interior and exterior are lacquered to prevent oxidization. Step Light is also available in a Tall version.

New in stock at Crema, these self-adhesive transparent ‘water drops’ can be stuck on windows and mirrors. They morph the user’s view and create interesting reflections. Window drops can be removed easily to be stuck onto another window.A brand new design, Laclasica is a solid and molded ash wooden chair that combines all the traditional principles of classical chairs, and translates them into a pure and contemporary design. Laclasica’s curvy shape conveys its sensuality and cosiness.

The Birdie standing lamp made from lightweight materials  has different personalities: In white, it can be discreet and almost invisible, but in red, orange or grey it becomes more of a prima donna capable of playing the starring role of a room.

With its instantly recognisable frame detail, made from steel rod painted in white epoxy resin or chromed – the Tavalo XZ3 is a modern classic. Its top is made from MDF with a durable polymeric cover. We love it!

Cherner Arm Chair – The Cherner Chair Company

The 1958 molded plywood armchair by Norman Cherner, a midcentury icon found in design collections worldwide is now available to a new generation of furniture collectors. Reissued in exacting detail from the original drawings and molds, the armchair combines the best of both molded plywood and solid bent wood construction. Like the original, made entirely in the U.S.A and exclusively in South Africa at Crema Design.

A Rangoli is a Hindu floral design with a long historic tradition, which is placed on the floor at the entrance of some houses a welcome symbol. Inspired by the essence of these works, the rug gives extraordinary charm to living rooms or dining rooms in their large format, or passageways and bedrooms in the smaller size. 100% New Zealand wool and imported from Spain, this is a big Crema Design favourite.

Glas takes the familiar image of industrial lamps used in warehouses and factories worldwide. A reinvented icon in the light of a new contemporary lifestyle. By day, by night: Glas is a lamp with a double life. When it is off, the chrome-coloured surface reflects the surrounding environment and objects like a mirror. When it is on, it emits a warm beam, with a retro feel.Exploring new possibilities with a whole spectrum of lighting, the Cluster Lamp evokes experimentation with ambient expression. It can be purchased with a choice of three unique bulbs sets (sold separately) or used as a platform for the collection of the user’s own bulbs. Bulbs as art – Brilliant!

The Rabbit lamp by Front is faithful to the true dimensions of the animal bringing a touch of nature in fairytale style and genuine madness. By rejecting abstraction and taking inspiration from a living creature it delivers a powerful emotive content that never fails to elicit a strong response from onlookers. Who wouldn’t want a rabbit lamp to light up their home!

Style Icons – By Paul Duncan

Style Icons is a remarkable, varied collection of places designed and decorated by tremendously talented people, some of them very well known, others less so. Interestingly, although they’re all so different and varied in style, their roots are essentially in sync and they have a single voice. This is the first time such a collection has been put together and it provides a unique opportunity to compare such talent all in one volume.

This highly visual book features 12 South African interior designers, each with their own unique style and approach to design. In their own words, each icon talks about their inspirations and influences, their stylistic range, their likes and dislikes, and how they see themselves and their work. They address the difficult question of what makes them South African and how their work brings that across, focusing on a few specific projects, and discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by each one. Carefully selected, beautiful full-colour photographs of various aspects of the projects discussed illustrate each designer’s signature style, giving a feel for their work and capturing the essence of what it is they are striving to achieve in the African context.
